Trin 1
- Before we proceed, let's make sure you have the correct tools for the job.
- iFixit's iPhone 4 Liberation Kit includes:
- One 5-Point "Pentalobe" screwdriver
- One #00 Phillips screwdriver
- Two 3.6 mm "Liberation" Phillips screws
- Are you ready to break the shackles of hardware oppression and liberate your iPhone 4? Let's rock!
Trin 2
- Use the Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.6 mm Pentalobe screws near the dock connector.
- The 5-Point Pentalobe screwdriver should only be used a limited number of times because it has the potential to strip the screws.
Trin 3
- Peel and remove the two 3.6 mm Phillips screws from the iPhone 4 Liberation Card.
- Both the Phillips and Pentalobe screws are really small. How small? See for yourself (highlighted in the second picture).
